Let’s Talk About Home Rebuilding

Posted by Tristan Angelini on 09 July 2021

There are many reasons why one would consider moving. Some people who were able to purchase their home way before they anticipated having a big family would eventually need a bigger space. Others are probably just wasn’t satisfied with the house they bought or maybe they felt like they have outgrown their home. We know how difficult it is to pack up and find a new place, but you don’t have to because there’s always another solution like rebuilding, renovating, or extending your place.

In recent years, more and more homeowners are entertaining the idea of knock-down rebuilds. Rather than move to a new location where there is a whole new uncertainty waiting for them, knock-down rebuilds are increasingly becoming popular for those who want to start all over without having to do the exhausting and grueling process of moving.

Here are the top three reasons why you should consider home rebuilding.

More Space, Less Expensive

One thing to really consider if you want a new place is the amount of money you will have to spend, yet again. If you have enough funds then by all means, but you have to remember that buying a property is not that cheap if you take into account the other fees that come with it. So instead of applying for another property loan or looking for someone else to sell your house to, you can get more space and a new look exactly how you would prefer it with rebuilding. You’d be surprised to know that rebuilding is much cheaper than renovating because you do not have to factor in the original form of the property, which would limit you to do the design that you want due to the structural constraints. Most of the time, it’s because of the constraints that add up and make renovation expensive.

Due for an upgrade

Those who have lived in a house for years or even decades would definitely feel some itch of changing up the overall look or feel of the house. Comfort is the number one factor when choosing space or a piece of furniture, so when you are no longer comfortable with your space or your enjoyment has decreased over time then that is an indicator that it is due for an upgrade. Maybe you find your home dated and do not look attractive anymore, then rebuilding is the way to go.

Improve the function

You may find yourself blurting out wishes like “I wish we had a second bathroom” or “I wish we had a bigger kitchen” daily. This may be because you know that things would be much easier for you especially as your family grows bigger. The pandemic made us realize things we didn’t before like how valuable a working space is especially when working from home started to become the norm. It also showed us that work can be done anywhere, but it’s much more efficient if you have your own space.

To Mark Up the Value

Lastly, if you have made the final decision that you want your property for sale, it is a wise idea to do a complete rebuild if you look at it as an investor. Since you have lived in the house for a long time, most of the physical elements in the house might not last too long. These elements have a lifespan and these might affect the overall condition of the house. It’s just a matter of time when these elements will start expiring one by one. By opting for rebuilding, it’s like going through a reset and any functional problems will no longer bother the future homeowners. Plus, you will have the ability to mark up the value of the property for bigger returns.
