We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced candidate to join our team as a Commercial Shopfitter/Site Manager. As the primary point of contact for subcontractors, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall execution and quality finish that Hillbrook Projects is known for. Your role will involve managing the site performance, maximizing production by coordinating subcontractor availability, scheduling and meeting trades on-site, and proactively resolving build issues. Your strong management skills, knowledge of building regulations, OHS regulations, and QA systems will be essential in ensuring compliance and delivering projects on time and within budget. Exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills are necessary to maintain positive relationships with subcontractors and the team. You should demonstrate attention to detail, a proactive approach to tasks, and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Experience in commercial or shopfitting projects, proficiency in carpentry and installation, and the ability to provide practical solutions will be valuable assets.

Responsibilities:


  1. Project Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of commercial construction projects, including planning, scheduling, coordinating resources, and ensuring timely completion within budget.

  2. Shopfitting Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge of commercial shopfitting techniques, materials, and industry best practices for various hospitality venues, retail spaces, and office environments.

  3. Construction Oversight: Supervise and manage on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.

  4. Contractor Management: Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow, efficient resource allocation, and effective communication throughout the project.

  5. Communication: Has the ability to use internal management software and communicate with contractors and other team memebers.

  6. Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, expenses, and financial performance, proactively identifying and addressing any deviations or potential issues.

  7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, site records, change orders, and other relevant paperwork.

  8. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve construction-related challenges, making sound decisions and implementing effective solutions to ensure project success.

  9. Client Relations: Foster strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

  10. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all work meets high-quality standards, adheres to design specifications, and complies with relevant regulations and building codes.

  11. Team Leadership: Lead and motivate construction teams, providing guidance, training, and support to promote a positive and productive work environment.

Requirements:


  1. Proven experience as a Shopfitter/Site Manager in the construction of hospitality venues, cafes, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, retail shops, and offices.

  2. Strong knowledge of shopfitting techniques, materials, and industry standards.

  3. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

  4. Solid understanding of construction processes, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.

  5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and build strong client relationships.

  6. Problem-solving aptitude, with the ability to think critically, make informed decisions, and resolve issues efficiently.

  7. Detail-oriented mindset, ensuring accuracy in project documentation and compliance with quality standards.

  8. Leadership abilities, capable of motivating and guiding construction teams to achieve project objectives. Willing to take control as a leader

  9. Proficient in using construction management software and other relevant tools.

  10. Valid construction-related certifications and licenses may be required.
